These Terms & Conditions describe the rules for using the Motley Costumier website and ordering handmade costumes, accessories and sewing supplies.

2. Products and product information

Motley Costumier offers handmade costumes, accessories and sewing supplies. Product pages describe the available item, specifications, options, price and any stated processing information.

Because handmade items may be produced in small batches or made to order, colours and small details may vary from photographs. Please check the product description, measurements, options and quantity before placing an order. Contact us before ordering if you need help with sizing or a special request.

3. Customer accounts and orders

Customer accounts are available on the website. You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your account details secure.

An order request is submitted through the checkout process. We may contact you if information is missing, an item is unavailable, or a custom order needs clarification. An order is accepted when we confirm it or begin processing it, subject to the information shown for that order.

4. Prices, tax and payment

Prices are displayed in euros. The applicable tax calculation is shown during checkout and may depend on the buyer's country.

Available payment options include SEB online payment and bank transfer. An order may be held until the selected payment has been received or confirmed. Any payment-provider instructions shown at checkout form part of the payment process.

5. Handmade and made-to-order processing

Items are handmade in Latvia. The usual processing time stated in the shop policy is 2 weeks, while custom orders may take up to 3 weeks. The store notice currently states a processing time of 2 weeks. The processing information shown for your order or on the relevant product and shipping pages applies.

Processing time is the time needed to prepare an order and does not include delivery time. If you need an item by a particular date, please contact us before ordering.

6. Delivery

Orders are shipped from Latvia. Tracking information is provided for every order where available.

  • Latvia: usually 2-5 business days after dispatch;
  • Europe: usually 5-14 business days after dispatch;
  • Worldwide: usually 10-21 business days after dispatch;
  • Express delivery by UPS or FedEx: usually 3-5 days.

Delivery estimates are not a guarantee of a particular arrival date. Tariffs are included in the shipping price according to the current shipping information. Delivery methods and prices shown at checkout apply to the order.

7. Returns and refunds

Standard shop items may be returned within 14 days after delivery.

  • The item must be returned in its original condition.
  • The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, except when the item is damaged or incorrect.
  • The original delivery charge is refunded.
  • A refund is issued after the returned item has been received and checked.
  • The refund method is agreed with the customer case by case and is normally arranged within 2-3 business days after the return has been approved.

Exchanges for standard items may be considered case by case. Custom and made-to-order items cannot be returned or exchanged under the current shop policy. For the return address and complete return procedure, please see the Returns Policy.

If an order arrives damaged, incorrect or with another problem, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected] and include your order details and at least 2-3 photographs clearly showing the damage or incorrect item.

8. Cancellations

Order cancellations are accepted before the item has shipped. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an order. A custom or made-to-order item may already be in production, so contact us before ordering if you are unsure.

9. Care and use

Care instructions are provided for relevant products and materials. Please follow the instructions for washing, drying, ironing and storage. The buyer is responsible for using the item in accordance with its product description and care instructions.

10. Intellectual property

Website text, photographs, product images, designs, logos and other content belong to Motley Costumier or are used with permission. They may not be copied, republished, sold or used commercially without permission.

11. Website availability

We aim to keep the website, product information and checkout available and accurate, but content, prices, availability, delivery options and processing times may change. We may correct errors and update information when needed.

12. Applicable Law and Disputes

These Terms and Conditions and any contract between Motley Costumier and the Customer shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia.

If the Customer is a consumer residing in another country, the choice of Latvian law shall not deprive the Customer of any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply under the laws of the Customer's country of habitual residence and cannot be excluded by agreement.

If a dispute arises in connection with an order, product or these Terms and Conditions, Motley Costumier and the Customer shall first attempt to resolve the matter amicably. Customers are encouraged to contact Motley Costumier directly so that we can review the matter and seek a reasonable solution.

If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, the Customer may use any applicable consumer dispute resolution mechanisms available under the laws of the Customer's country of residence and may bring proceedings before a court having jurisdiction under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude any statutory rights or remedies available to consumers under mandatory applicable law.

For disputes with customers who are not consumers, the courts of the Republic of Latvia shall have jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed between the parties.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions when the website, products, services or business practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
